The Little Giant of Aberdeen County continues to keep me at its beck and call. I really don’t like having to put it down but have been for my chat with Toni from A Circle of Books. The writing in this novel is wonderful-the words flow and so does the plot so smoothly that you are just drawn into it so completely.
I’m up to Chapter 19 now and only put it down to get this post written. Truly continues to be a favorite character of mine. She’s now living with Robert Morgan and he is just awful to her. I’d love to smack him upside his head a few times. He is so mean with his words. I often wonder how Truly keeps going day after day but she does. He does the same with Bobbie too, belittling him. I really feel for the little guy and wonder where this story is going to leave him.
Truly has discovered some secrets left by the old Tabitha Morgan. She is now using herbs to heal things and is learning more and more about them. It makes me wonder what all she is planning to do with them in this last section of the book. The prologue does allude to some of her plans but not all.
I think this story still holds many secrets that are going to be revealed soon. Some that may be devastating to Truly if you read the inside cover of the novel. I wonder what they will be. I just really hope nothing bad will happen to Truly, Bobbie, Marcus or Amelia. I love them all although Amelia I’m not completely sure about yet for a few reasons.
You know what keeps running through my mind reading this book is ‘how big is Truly?’ The story makes her out to be this huge person and I keep trying to picture it in my mind but somehow can’t. You know how when you read a book you can usually get a pretty clear picture of a character in your mind. I just don’t find that with Truly for some reason and it’s odd because there are certainly enough descriptions of her. I guess for me is that I always look for something good in a person and try to focus on that and Truly is made out to be so ugly, yet she seems like such a good soul. Oh well, maybe this will become clearer to me as I read more.
So, back to reading. I’m going to get ready for bed and cuddle in to keep reading. I just have to know what’s going to happen next. Make sure to head over to Toni’s post here at A Circle of Books to see what she had to say in today’s chat.
