Outlander Challenge 2009

January 3rd, 2009

What a great challenge that is being brought to us by Michele from A Reader’s Respite and Amy at Passages to the Past. You can read more about it and sign up here.

I read the first Outlander book a few years ago but will have to re-read it. I also have all the others in the series but have never gotten around to reading them. What a perfect opportunity to delve into them once and for all and in time for the newest release coming out in the fall of 2009. The great thing is that reading these also falls into a couple of my other challenges too so that’s even better.

I will keep track of the books here by checking them off when I finish them. Here’s the list:
  1. Outlander
  2. Dragonfly in Amber
  3. Voyager
  4. Drums of Autumn
  5. The Fiery Cross
  6. A Breath of Snow and Ashes

Sounds like an Awesome Challenge Dar… I am so wanting to read them also. I enjoyed Outlander years ago.

    Happy New Year.

  2. Nymeth says:

I really want to read this series! But I should probably see how I like the first book before committing to a challenge :P

  3. Luanne says:

I worked at a bookstore a long time ago and when I quit I bought the first four with my employee discount before I left. I have yet to read them – but I had to own them! Glad to hear your eye is getting better1

  4. Staci says:

I didn’t realize that she has a new one coming out. I’m going to have to read the last one!!! You’re going to have fun!!!

  5. Michele at Reader's Respite says:

Yay — glad to hear you’re insane enough to join us, Dar! ;)

You will love this series as I know you like historical romance. These are really big books but they are really good and well worth the time. Good Luck!

  9. Dar says:

Toni, I have to re-read Outlander. I don’t remember enough of it to move onto the next book. You should join in the challenge.

Nymeth, yes checking out the first book would be a good idea-lol. I already know I liked the first one years ago so I’ll go forward.

Luanne, they are a challenge if only because of how big they are. I really wasn’t paying much attention until I put them down for my chunkster challenge too.

Staci, I didn’t realize she had a new one coming out either-I guess it’s in the fall and called Echoes I believe.

Michele-definitely insane. Check out my chunkster challenge for my true insanity. lol.

Joy, it’s a pretty big undertaking. Stay tuned for reviews…

Naida, that list just keeps growing doesn’t it :)

Bree, I did read the first one years ago and liked it and yes I like historical anything so I’m looking forward to them. They are humdinger big though.

  10. JaneGS says:

I'm unofficially doing this challenge as well having realized that I needed to refresh my memory on parts of the story. I read the first three in the winter (Northern Hemisphere, that is), and plan to do the second three before the new book comes out. Yikes…that's soon!

  11. Mary says:

Dar, I just signed up for a different Outlander challenge – runs Nov '09 – Nov '10. It's my first time reading this series and I look forward to it. Probably won't start the first book until January, though.
