Mailbox Monday (March 23)

March 23rd, 2009

Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page. It asks us to list what came into our mailbox in the last week. Well somehow I managed to miss a week so mine is for the last two weeks…

Wow, even I’m having trouble keeping track of all this now. I really need some very organized system to implement and soon. LOL. How about you, what came into your mailbox last week?

The Painter From Changhai was quite good. Hope you enjoy it.

  7. Sandy Nawrot says:

Goodness Dar, how on earth do you read all of these books? I read The Terror, and it was fascinating. Not a book I would want to read late at night when I’m home alone. It is a curious mixture of historical fiction and horror.

  8. Nely says:

That is a whole lot of books. :D I love it!

  9. Wendi B. - Wendi's Book Corner ~ Rainy Day Reads in Seattle says:

  12. Staci says:

I’m not all that familiar with the titles you got in the mail but I know that I will be soon!! I’m not sure how you would go about cataloging all of those goodies…Excel Spreadsheet? maybe?!! LOL!! I did get some books in the mail but I’m going to play along next week!! I keep forgetting!

  13. Luanne says:

I received Still Life as well – but I bet you read it first Dar!

  14. Ramya says:

I am ALWAYS ALWAYS jealous of your monday mailbox lists!:) I don’t receive quite as many books as you but my TBR pile is already pretty formidable! How do you manage!

  15. Dawn - She is Too Fond of Books says:

I just finished *Drawers & Booths* by Ara 13. It took a bit for me to get into it, but I found it to be unique.

  16. avisannschild says:

Wow, you got a lot of books this week! Enjoy!

  17. Ladytink_534 says:

King Arthur must be making a HUGE comeback as I’ve read a review for an Arthurian book at almost every blog the past week or so lol! Enjoy your new books!

  18. Trish says:

How do you keep track of your books–like library thing or good reads or some other system? I don’t use the computer thingies, but I have a “catalog” of all my books in Excel and don’t know what I’d do without it!

  19. Teddy Rose says:

Boy Dar, You certainly had a good haul this week! Enjoy!

  20. Dar says:

Thanks everyone for stopping my mailbox! Love your comments.

Ramya, that list is going to be considerably smaller from now on. I need to get a handle on what’s here and when someone sends me something I feel obligated to read it so of course it takes time.

Trish, right now I write everything in a scribbler and then if I’ve committed to read something I put it in a calendar. So far so good. I like things written down in front of me versus the computer so I’ll probably stick with it for now.

  21. Mo from Unmainstream Mom Reads says:

Keeper of Light & Dust should be great – Mostert's first book, Season of the Witch, was wonderful! I hope you like Palace Circle, I did :)

  22. Serena says:

I do have The Terror in my TBR pile and I received keeper of light and dust as well.

I still have not received Fiction yet.

  23. Marcia says:

Thank you for stopping by the mailbox this week. Man I know better than to read your posts as I’m always finding something I want (LOL). Thank you for offering to send me ‘Still Life’ and, of course, unable to refuse a book I took you up on the that offer. Check your email. I’ve finished ‘Palace Circle’. I found it a pleasant read but I’m not writing home about it. You have one more in there but I’m not telling what it is.

  24. Anna says:

Sorry I’m a bit late for this one, but I’m still behind in my blog reading. :(

Anyway, looks like you got a lot of great books! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on The Painter From Shanghai. I loved it!

  25. Dar says:

Mo, I’ve heard that SEason of the Witch was really good. I’m hoping too that this one will be.

Serena, I have The Terror on audio and the book. The book is pretty huge, I’m thinking I may get to the audio first.

Anna, that’s ok. As you can see I’m late too answering comments.

Marcia, did I have one more on my list you’ve got or one more that you’d like that you’re not telling me about. lol.
