Friday Finds (June 19)

June 19th, 2009

Friday Finds is hosted by MizB from Should Be Reading and it asks us ‘what great books did you hear about/discover this past week?

Here is my find for the week…

The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks to be released by Hachette Book Group on September 8, 2009. Yahooooooooo, I’ve read everything he’s written and of course I will want to read this one too. It sounds quite good. Here is a description from Hachette

#1 bestselling author Nicholas Sparks’s new novel is at once a compelling family drama and a heartrending tale of young love. Seventeen year old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller’s life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alientated from her parents, especially her father…until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church.

The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels–first love, love between parents and children — that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that love can break our hearts…and heal them.

So, that’s mine for the week. I’m looking forward to reading this one. What about you-what did you find? Share your link with me or share in the comments.

I've read almost all of his books ( I still have The Choice and The Lucky One on my shelf, but I'll get to them eventually ;o)). I grew up in the area where he sets his books and I love reading them (it's like going home again). I didn't realize he had a new one coming out, so thanks for the heads-up – it's now on my wish list ;o).

Yes I am very behind in comments. Please forgive me. I'd like to thank you all for stopping by my Friday Finds of a few weeks ago. lol.

Diane, I loved Three Weeks with my Brother as well. Very good.

Kristi, reading books set in an area you're familiar with always adds something special to them I think.
