Forever in my heart
Good morning everyone. I hope everybody had themselves a wonderful weekend. Mine was good but quiet. It’s quite hot here for this time of year but I’m not going to complain as most of August was miserable. So, first an update on my dad – he’s been doing good and his heart rate/blood pressure has settled down. He’s been really tired though and will be taking it easy until he sees a specialist. I’m just praying that he’ll be fine until then and no more hospital visits.
With all the stress of the past week or more my concentration levels are zilch. I’m having such a hard time even getting anything read. I’ve been working on The Promised World by Lisa Tucker for a few days now. I’m also busily at work on BBAW stuff and lagging behind there too. One thing I did do was haul out my knitting again when dad when into the hospital. I find that knitting is a very calming action especially when you’re sitting in the emergency ward.
So that’s it for my week. Definitely not the kind of excitement I like. I did however manage to get a picture of Buddy for all of you. He was vegging out on the lawn in the shade yesterday with his balll. He loves this ball. I bought it for him when he was a baby and he promptly got the squeaker out and now he can just fold it up and carry it around in his mouth or he’ll lay trying to chew off the bubbly things on it. Duh, they don’t come off Buddy. lol. Enjoy… (You can click on the pic for a full view if you’d like)
Thank you so much for your prayers this past week and continued ones. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to have so many come by and comment. It just shows me the wonderful support there is in the book blogging community beyond our love of books. So tell me what are you up to this Sunday or did you do anything exciting on the weekend? Come and share your Sunday thoughts with me.
Looks like Buddy is having a relaxing weekend!
Buddy is such a cutie… And it's good to hear that your father is doing well. I hope that'll continue! And you'll have a chance to relax as much as Buddy is relaxing soon!
I'm glad your dad is doing better. I know how stressful it can be when a parent is not well.
On the other hand…look at Buddy! He takes it all in stride
Glad to hear that your dad is improving Dar and things are stable. It can be stressful when a parent or family member is ill. Hospitals are not pleasant places to be and the knitting sounds like a great thing for you to do when you have to go there.
I'm fighting a bad cough so I understand the lack of focus. I've had a slow week of reading.
Buddy looks happy with his ball and must bring you great joy!
I firmly believe in the power of prayer, and am so happy to hear your dad is feeling better. I will continue to put him on my prayer list.
Buddy pictures are a Sunday highlight! I am slightly recouping from a whirlwind trip to Chicago. I hit a great bookstore, and did lots of shopping! I have two tons of laundry and groceries to buy. My goal for the day, however, is to finish "The Hour I First Believed", which checks in at over 700 pages. I MUST finish it today!
I have an award for you at:

Hi Dar, I really hope you have a better week and that things start stabilizing for your dad and that he does get better- and no more hospital visits. I'm praying:)
It's about that time of year to pull out those knitting and crocheting projects. I hope you have a relaxing and rejuvenating Sunday Dar.
I am doing housework and trying to write up a bunch of reviews.
I am so glad your dad is doing better! Don't be too hard on yourself- it is so much stress when someone you love is ill…
Nice to see Buddy! What a cutie! Our furry companions help with all this stress too!
Take care,
Suzaane
It is good to hear your dad has improved. I hope you have a better week this week.
Dar, I'm very happy to hear your Dad is improving. Love the pic of Buddy : )
So glad to see your dad is home and doing good right now. I hope and pray that it stays that way. I'm sure having Buddy to snuggle with has helped you both!
I'm glad he's feeling better. That's wonderful!
I'm dying of heat!

Dar, I'm so glad to hear that your Dad is doing a bit better. I'm a bit behind in my blog reading as well but hopefully I'll catch up soon. Hope this week is better for you!
My weekend has been relatively quiet too. And hot. Oh so hot.
I am glad your dad is doing well at the moment. I do hope that will continue. I'll continue to keep him in my thoughts.
I'll be interested to read your thoughts on The Promised World, Dar.
Buddy is as charming as ever, I see.
Animals have a way of brightening our lives, don't they?
I hope you have a great week, Dar!
I'm glad your father is doing well, Dar! I hope he gets better soon!
As always, Buddy is adorable!!
Very glad to hear your dad is doing much better. Parents get to a certain age, and they become the children and make you worry, instead of the other way around. Your dad is lucky he has you. Some people have no one.
I either didn't know or forgot you were a knitter! it's the motions that are so calming, and unfortunately it is good for hospital visits.
P.S. Know you're bust and such, so you don't have to participate but I gave you an award
Just want to brighten your day. Hope this week is better for you. {HUGS}
I'm very glad to hear your dad is doing okay, Dar *hugs*
Just catching up, good to hear your Pop is doing better. Quiet sounds good after the past weeks events — don't forget to take care of yourself too, Dar.
I had a great weekend, my kids and hubby spoiled me rotten with books, candles, flowers, dinner out and a new reading lamp for my b-day!
Hope everything works out well for your father! It's so darn sad and worrisome when our parents have health issues!
Buddy is just too funny!
I haven't knit in ages but I can understand why it would be soothing for you!
Have a good week!
I am so glad that your dad is feeling better! Take your time getting back into the groove with things, books are very patient waiters.
Dar,
I'm so glad that your dad is doing better. I'll be sending out those positive vibes and prayers that he won't have to go back to the hospital!!! (((hugs)))
Good 'ol Buddy! Glad to hear your dad is doing better.

Take ti easy for sometime DAR! You and your family needs rest- after the tensions!
Glad to know your pa is doing better! Our Stress-buster Buddy must be doing a great job
Glad to hear your Dad has improved, he will probably be tired for a while yet. Speaking from experience, medications for controlling blood pressure and finding a combination that works is challenging in itself. One of the main side effects of many BP medications is extreme tiredness unfortunately, but a good specialist will work with your dad.
Don't forget to take care of yourself too Dar!
Ooooh… ooooh… oooooh! Hiro has one just like that but it's orange in colour!
I hope things continue to improve for your dad!
Hi Dar! Glad to hear your dad is doing well. Buddy is so cute!
Enjoy your knitting

I`m so glad that your Dad is doing better! My thought`s and prayers are with you always Dar!
I find knitting to be a comfort too.
Buddy is just too cute.
I miss you! Anyway, I know you're probably away away away from the blogosphere, but I could help giving you a little blogger love today: http://trishsbooks.blogspot.com/2009/09/bbaw-adoration.html
