Finally, to top a wonderful evening of giveaways I have 3 copies of This One Is Mine by Maria Semple up for grabs again courtesy of Valerie at Hachette Book Group (the Hachette ladies are definitely the best!). I do have this novel and intend to read it soon. I’ve heard a lot of really good things about it and again what a great book to select for your next book club pick! Besides, who can resist this absolutely terrific cover – I love it! Here’s a bit about the book…
Violet Parry is living the quintessential life of luxury in the Hollywood Hills with David, her rock-and-roll manager husband, and her darling toddler, Dot. She has the perfect life–except that she’s deeply unhappy. David expects the world of Violet but gives little of himself in return. When she meets Teddy, a roguish small-time bass player, Violet comes alive, and soon she’s risking everything for the chance to find herself again. Also in the picture are David’s hilariously high-strung sister, Sally, on the prowl for a successful husband, and Jeremy, the ESPN sportscaster savant who falls into her trap.

This one sounds really interesting. It's hard to understand someone being deeplu unhappy when they have what sounds like the perfect life. But I've never believed in wishing for someone else's (someone specific) life because you really don't know what happens behind closed doors.
