Next book up for giveaway is 3 copies of Follow Me by Joanna Scott courtesy of Valerie over at Hachette Book Group. I read this last year for the author’s blog tour with Hachette and did enjoy it although I did have a few issues with it (my review). There were many who loved the book and the journey it took them on.
Here’s a bit about the book:
On a summer day in 1946 Sally Werner, the precocious young daughter of hardscrabble Pennsylvania farmers, secretly accepts her cousin’s invitation to ride his new motorcycle. Like so much of what follows in Sally’s life, it’s an impulsive decision with dramatic and far-reaching consequences. Soon she abandons her home to begin a daring journey of self-creation, the truth of which she entrusts only with her granddaughter and namesake, six decades later. But when young Sally’s father–a man she has never known–enters her life and offers another story altogether, she must uncover the truth of her grandmother’s secret history.

This book has it all to make it a great book club read! Sally’s life did indeed offer up many avenues for discussion from the time she makes a life altering decision to her journey throughout in her effort to find out who she is. There’s tragedy, guilt, decisions to change your life and the consequences of those decisions within the pages of this book. It sounds like it would be an okay book. I'm having a problem lately of running across a lot of books that sound the same. I don't know if it's just the way the "blurber" words the synopsis or if it's in the first page of the story, but I feel like I can never find THE book that will sweep me away again.
