Teaser Tuesdays (July 20)

July 20th, 2010

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teasers this week come from Cold Rock River by Jackie Lee Miles…

‘Don’t ask me why, but Clarissa always behaved, no matter what. Not me. It all depended on what was being offered for dinner. For instance, I hated cabbage. But Rebecca didn’t know it. I kept it to myself, and when I wanted to sass her good, I picked those nights so I’d get sent to bed early. It was a good deal for me. I didn’t have to do any dishes, I didn’t have to eat that darn cabbage that tasted so awful and I got to lie in bed and read books for hours with no one pestering me.’ (pg 6, ARC copy, final printed version may be different)

Ok, yes that’s a few more than 2 sentences but this whole little section was too great to pass up. I knew I was going to like Adie after I read this. lol.

How about you, do you have any teasers to share today? Leave me a comment or leave your link for me to check out. Have a great day everyone!

    OMG I love that! Why didn't I think of that when I was little? Instead I was the rule follower, sitting at the dinner table until 10pm because I didn't want to eat my veggies.

    Darlene, have heard of this book lately and that teaser sounds a little like the character Scout in to Kill A Mockingbird, same sassy attitude. I liked it and thanks for sharing more than just a small amount..
