Book Spotlight: Ninepins by Rosy Thornton & Giveaway (Open Int’l)

I’m very pleased to welcome Rosy Thornton to Peeking Between the Pages today with her newest release Ninepins which releases on April 30 in paperback (Kindle version is currently available)!  Rosy is the author of The Tapestry of Love that came out last year that was well liked by bloggers and I bet this one will be too as it sounds terrific!  Unfortunately I didn’t have time to review it this time around but I’ll be picking up a Kindle copy for myself and hopefully get to read it soon.  In the meantime I’m going to tell you about Ninepins and a bit about Rosy too!  Don’t forget to check out the giveaway at the end of the post.

About Ninepins (from Rosy’s website)

Ninepins is an isolated former tollhouse, standing high on a bank beside a waterway in the Cambridgeshire fens. There, since her divorce, Laura lives alone with her 12-year-old daughter, Beth. Below the bank stands the old pumphouse – a former fen drainage station – which is rented to a series of student lodgers. But this year’s lodger is different: Willow is seventeen, and in local authority care. Battling down her reservations, Laura takes her on.

Do Willow’s strangenesses and her mysterious and troubled past make her a threat to Laura and, especially, to Beth? What were the circumstances surrounding the act of arson which led to Willow being taken into care? Set against the brooding landscape of the fens, Ninepins explores the perils and rewards of bringing a stranger into your home. It traces a mother’s fears for her daughter as she struggles to decide whether Willow is vulnerable or dangerous – or perhaps a bit of both.

Pre-order Ninepins at, or (where it is already available) or on your Kindle (already available)

About Rosy Thornton (from Rosy’s website)

I was brought up in a village in Suffolk. Think rural and idyllic. To give you an idea, our house was approximately half a mile from this (now minus the cart):

Suffolk still very much has its claws in me; it drags me back every other Saturday to watch Ipswich Town in their annual, unsuccessful battle to secure promotion.

Rosy with her dog W.G Snuffy Cambridgeshire is home now, however. In my daily existence I am a lecturer and Fellow in Law at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, where I try to be serious now and again. I teach and write on an eclectic mix of topics, including landlord and tenant law, trusts, homelessness, and women and the law.

Married with two daughters, I live in a village in the Cambridgeshire fens, where I spend a lot of time walking my two mad spaniels, Treacle and W.G. Snuffy Walden.

Rosy Thornton is the author of four previous novels: ‘More Than Love Letters’ (2007), ‘Hearts and Minds’ (2008), ‘Crossed Wires’ (2009) and ‘The Tapestry of Love’ (2010).

Interesting story. I hope Willow blossoms under Laura’s care and that she and Beth become good friends. Who knows, perhaps Willow may end up helping Beth? I can’t wait to see how the story actually unfolds. Thanks for throwing this giveaway open internationally.

I adored The Tapestry of Love and was thrilled when I learned Rosy Thornton had a new book out. Ninepins’ premise is so interesting and I think an issue many can relate to especially since Willow is only 17 and is along in the worls. Few people would turn away someone like Willow. But particularly when you have children, you have yt be extra careful who you let into your midst.

I cannot wait to find out what hapens in this book.

The latest photo booths out there on the market are able to accurately add in
custom backgrounds and make a great option when you look to rent a photo
booth. Which they can further retrieve at a travel kiosk ,
travel shop , airport check-in desk, or at the hotel , while travelling.

Technology is great and can bring great possibilities, but we need to exercise moderation and focus
    on intent.
